The casual hand lettering style works well at all sizes but especially large settings. 62 extras in this font include images of autumn leaves, snippets of pastoral scenes, and various McKuen-related icons. <?xml:namespace prefix = o />

The 62 extras in the P22 collection was adapted from various McKuen works by Richard Kegler for use as picture font elements. They are based on original drawings by Rod McKuen, Anthony Goldschmidt, and Hy Fujita.

On the other hand, Rod McKuen, as divulged in his website www.mckuen.com, “as the most avid of his of fans throughout the world already know, has kept the lowest of profiles during the past decade or so. New projects such as the Golden Age of Music series of CD's for Laserlight have kept him busy with only the odd public appearance, in such shows as the tribute to Frank Sinatra at Carnegie Hall in 1997, the odd 'voice over' on a television ad or Disney series reminded "McKuenites" that he was still around and performing.”

Richard Kegler, as written in myfonts.com was born in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Buffalo, NY in 1965. He was a senior partner and founder of P22 type foundry. For years before P22 became a ‘real’ type designing entity, Mr. Kegler had been involved in various aspects of the book arts ranging from hand-binding and hand printing to hypertext. His varied interest in the history and processes of art and design initially seemed to have little in common with interests in up-and-coming technologies, but more and more there seemed to be much common ground that could be found. This meeting of old and new has become the premise of P22’s collection of fonts. With so much history overlooked and so much potential for new technologies, Mr. Kegler sees no limit to future projects.

In the article Stanyan Autumn New font inspired by "Autumn", it stated that Stanyan Autumn has already been used on the latest Rod McKuen book "Rusting in the Rain - New & Selected Poems" as the text font for all of the poems.

A special selection of audio tracks as MP3 files is included as a special bonus for licensors of the Autumn font set. You just need to understand HTML and you'll most likely understand enough to do a cut-and-paste from someone else's RSS file to create your own file. No idea on HTML? Well then, start a blog because several blogging tools automatically generate RSS files.

According to the article posted last December 23, 2004 at blog.photoblogs.org, a certain MattB commented that thumbnails in RSS feeds are a must. He also said that it’s unnecessary to use an RSS feed for a Photoblog if it doesn’t give you any idea of what the new photos look like. Caitriona, the one who posted the blog, checked out on the problem on how to have thumbnail images show up in RSS feeds and still blocked hotlinking using .htaccess after receiving MattB’s comment. Some of the codes were also included in the article.

Know what, Caitriona, what you posted in here is truly a great solution. With it, I'm glad that the issue of thumbnails in RSS feeds has been brought to the forefront. Regarding the people who had problems with hotlinking before, it can really slow things down. I can see it as a better way instead of changing the filenames of the photos to solve the same problem.
I salute you for your effort in solving the problem. Also, what you’ve shared to us will surely help those who’ll encounter a problem similar to what you’ve mentioned here. That’s something that you should truly be proud of. Two thumbs up, Caitriona!!!

Reference to this trackback article

Flash Burns in Digital Photos

Since the introduction of the digital camera, it has been widely accepted in this modernized world. The demand for this great technology continues to rise. It has evolved from the simplest to the most advanced digital camera in the past years. We still expect more developments to happen to the digital camera world in the future. However, further enhancements of the digital camera don’t mean that we are always assured of better photos from this device.

According to the article posted last September 17, 2004 at photoshop911.typepad.com, photographers do encounter some problems using a digital camera. Usually, you’ll see some hotspots created by the flash. If flash burns occur, minimize the overexposed areas from electronic flash too close to the subject using Photoshop CS. Open the image in Photoshop CS, then go to Image>Adjustments>Shadow/Highlight. Further instructions were included in the article.

With this, it is necessary for us to always consider other factors when we take pictures. We should be aware of our distance to the subject. In taking pictures, remember not to stand so close to your subject when you are using a flash or use a flash that automatically compensates for the distance to the subject. Another thing is that we have to make sure that the subject stands in front of the light not against it so that the subject will not appear dark and blurry in the picture. After all, in most cases, it is not the fault of the digital camera when we get terrible photos upon using it.

These are only some pointers to consider in digital photography. We can never expect to get perfect photos every time we use a digital camera. However, the good thing is that we already have software programs such as Photoshop CS where we can manipulate images to make it look at its best and the way we imagined it.

Reference to this trackback article

Optimizing Digital Camera Images and Photos is Easy with Binuscan PhotoPerfect DigiCam

Everywhere in the world, in newspapers, in magazines, and at digital imaging professionals, millions of images are being analyzed and processed automatically everyday. We always want our pictures to look great. We are very much concerned with the subject, photo resolution and of course, the quality of photo printing. However, all our pictures can never turn out to be perfect. A few will come out to have unbalanced colors, poor resolution, and the like. But guys, there’s nothing to worry if you’ll have similar problems in the future. The solution is the Binuscan PhotoPerfect DigiCam.

Today, the new Binuscan PhotoPerfect DigiCam is within everyone's reach. This technology is the latest addition to Binuscan’s roster of digital cameras. It was just released last December 24, 2004. To achieve superbly corrected images, with perfectly adapted color balance, sharpness, contrast and saturation, don’t think twice to use this great innovation. Also, you don’t even need an advanced knowledge in digital imaging to obtain photos with dimensions fitting exactly the output requirements.

Binuscan PhotoPerfect DigiCam will take care of the rest for you, from image analysis by artificial intelligence, ReCo Technology correction, histogram optimization and reconstruction, crop and adjustment to the final dimensions, sharpness, and adaptive JPEG compression. These files are being saved at the desired location with the desired filenames. You are assured that you’ll have perfect results.

You can also apply over 50 special effects, whether artistic or funny to your images. Also, professional and high range conversion brings back the charm of black and white images. This is truly great to know, folks! With it, our creative imagination and artistic minds will surely work in the right way. We will be able to come up with our own works of art that all of us will truly be proud of. With it, we will be amazed by our digital images which will evolve from simple to most stylish and unwanted to most loved images.

Finally, I want to extend my conratulations to the developers of the Binuscan PhotoPerfect DigiCam and more power to all of you.

View articles here.

Changing Hair Color in Photoshop

Changing hair color doesn't mean soaking your head into a container of coloring chemicals. Lighten up locks using adjustment layers in Photoshop. Changing hair color digitally is frequently simply a matter of adding a hue or saturation adjustment layer. However, when the hair needs substantial lightening, such as when converting from brunette to blond, the Selective Color command may be more effective.

Start by selecting a picture of a woman preferably with straight hair. Curly hair can be slightly difficult.

When you choose a blond subject, a simple dye job can be provided with a hue or saturation adjustment layer. Check the Colorize box and adjust the sliders for the look you want.

Going from dark hair to light presents some additional challenges. Sometimes the lightness slider of the hue or saturation adjustment is suitable. Other times you may have good luck with a Curves adjustment. But your best bet may be to head straight for a Selective Color adjustment layer.

When the Selective Color dialog box opens, click the radio button "Absolute" at the bottom, then at the top, switch the pop-up menu from Reds to Neutrals. Reduce the Cyan and Magenta content proportionally and then balance the appearance with the Yellow and Black sliders. Switch from Neutrals to Blacks and repeat.

The correct values depend both on your original image and your intent. The same original dark hair can produce a variety of lighter looks with this technique. You can choose from an infinite variety of colors. Using Photoshop unique hair coloring selection tools, you can even do hair simulations on your current hairstyle. You can test a hair color in your photo and see if it suits you. If it does then you can try in on.

Have fun. Experiment. Early ACE testing registration is being handled online at www.pearsonvue.com/adobe, and only available to PhotoshopWorld Conference attendees. Complete Adobe ACE testing registration details was made online at www.photoshopworld.com. Dell provided five Dell Precision Workstations for the ACE testing.

The testing schedule was provided for 15 testing slots per day which started on Sept. 1 and ended on Sept. 2. Carrie Cooper, training partner relations manager with Adobe Systems managed the testing sessions. Because the ACE test is computer-based, test results were immediately available to testers once they complete the test.

To help prepare ACE candidates for their ACE exam, PhotoshopWorld attendees have taken a half-day, pre-conference ACE Boot Camp on Aug. 31. Dave Cross, senior developer/education and curriculum for NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals) and Adobe certified instructor, was the one who taught the ACE Boot Camp reviewing test objectives and administered a practice test. With 64 classes to choose from, attendees were able to get the best, real-world Photoshop content and training offered at the biggest Photoshop conference in the world. Certainly the First Mobile ACE Testing was such a smashing success.

This article can be viewed in this link.
